Chez Genese Partnership

Compass Greensboro is a branch of Chez Genèse,

a French cafe located in downtown Greensboro.

At Chez Genèse we believe the desire to find meaning and fulfilling work is woven into basic human need and nature, and that every person has a skill set to contribute. It is our goal, as a team, to come alongside incredible individuals who (due to an intellectual or developmental disability) may oftentimes have the odds stacked against them in the workforce, and to help develop and celebrate their own interests and potential.

We believe food brings people together.

The training program of Compass Greensboro is an integral part of the overall mission of Chez Genèse to change the way our world both views and hires adults with IDD.

Job Training Program

The vocational program curriculum is designed to train adults with disabilities for jobs in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Our teaching strategies include a combination of direct instruction, hands-on learning activities, personal reflection, and one-on-one coaching. Our students will have the opportunity to hear from guest instructors in the community, practice role-playing workplace scenarios, and complete an internship with one of our business partnerships. Upon completion of this 6 month program, our students will secure jobs at local businesses in the community. At the end of their coursework, students will receive on-site coaching and skill maintenance support.
